The Directors and CEO are proud to announce the promotion of Symal Operations Manager Matthew Gurney to General Manager in the Infrastructure division.

Five years ago, Matt commenced with Symal Infrastructure as Construction Manager and within two years was promoted to Symal Infrastructure Operations Manager which saw his role and responsibilities expand significantly.

As Operations Manager, Matt has been a consistent and influential leader in navigating the Symal Infrastructure business through a period of major growth and expansion which included sector and interstate expansion.

Matt enjoys a challenge and making an impact on business operations. As Operations Manager he spearheaded the coordination of a large and growing engineering team, site-based workforce, project delivery, communications, safety and procurement. Matt has successfully managed the many moving pieces of the Symal Infrastructure business while contributing enormously to its performance and future direction.

It was straightforward appointing Matt to the General Manager role with his extensive background, willingness to expand his responsibilities and the growing contribution he continues to make to the Group.

As General Manager, Matt now oversees the entire Symal Infrastructure business in Victoria and NSW and will play a vital role in the further expansion into QLD as we expand operations across Australia. This role will broaden Matt’s business responsibilities and accountabilities.
