At Symal, we’re proud to have some amazing women who by pursuing careers and leadership positions that challenge gender stereotypes and bias are helping to shift the perception of career possibilities in construction for women.
From labourers and team leaders onsite to senior project engineers and executives on our leadership team, we’re working towards building a more inclusive and diverse culture where women are encouraged to be anything they want to be.
To support this, we’re taking construction to the classrooms with our Spark work experience program, inspiring the next generation of women to consider roles that breakdown gender stereotypes. We foster an environment where a female labourer can progress to a supervisor level and young women can train to become machine operators.
This International Women’s Day we’re celebrating the achievements of all the women at Symal who work in a variety of different roles that help us deliver great quality and value to our clients every day.
We may still be on our journey towards equality and inclusion, but we #ChooseToChallenge as from challenge comes change.
In the spirit of reconciliation, Symal acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their continuing connection to land, sea and water. We pay respect to their Elders past, present and emerging and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Australia’s First Peoples whose cultural practices continue today.
