The Fight Cancer Foundation helps kids undergoing treatment for cancer keep up with their schooling, so they don’t miss out on essential learning and have the best chance of keeping up with their classmates.

Every year, Symal takes part in Fight Cancer Foundation’s Footy Colours Day giving people the chance to show their support for the charity, and their favourite footy team, by wearing their sports kit to work.

On September 2nd, along with showing a little friendly rivalry across our sites and head office, we hosted a range of fun community events to bring our team, clients and industry relationships  together and help boost awareness and raise funds for this great Australian charity.

This year some of our project sites held fundraising BBQ’s, with a main event at The Bulleen Park and Ride site, where we were joined by representatives of the charity and AFLW/AFL ambassadors – Renae Garing, Billy Brownless and Jack Crisp.

Our efforts for 2022 raised a total of $68,425 for Fight Cancer Australia.

In the six years since Symal’s Nick Loucaides, Symal Construction Manager, kick-started our work with the charity. With the charity, Symal has raised over $250k. We are the charity’s top corporate fundraiser, and a great advocate for their work in our industry.

We hope our continued efforts will enable many more kids facing the challenge of cancer to rise above it and shine.
