To help our workforce and contractors stay healthy, safe and support the continuity of construction operations, we have introduced COVID-19 Monitors on all our sites. Our Monitors belong to a site team and wear easily identifiable PPE. They are tasked with managing potential coronavirus impacts on our project sites.
Group HSEQ Manager George Markelis says, “Although coronavirus is a new challenge impacting the way we work and live in our communities, our obligations at work remain the same. Successfully managing this health risk requires both a proactive and collective effort. We all need to do our bit to stay safe and following the rules on site is fundamental. COVID-19 Monitors listen, educate and support the implementation of these rules.”
The COVID-19 Monitors deliver relevant updates during daily site pre-starts and toolbox meetings and implement prevention measures reflecting the current recommendations issued by the Australian Government and the Department of Health and align to the guidelines established by Worksafe, construction industry unions and industry bodies.
COVID-19 Monitors promote and manage the implementation of social distancing, health and hygiene, travel, COVID-19 symptoms or diagnosis, and discrimination.
