Partnering once again with Major Roads Projects, building better transport infrastructure, our Infrastructure team has been awarded the Narre Warren North Road upgrade project.
Commuters in Melbourne’s south east are a step closer to safer and more reliable journeys as the next phase of a state-shaping road upgrade rolls out, with major works expected to start in December 2021. This major roads project is part of a total $3 billion package of suburban and regional road upgrades in Victoria and, is our second project we’re proud to deliver for MRPV this year, along with the Hallam North and Heatherton Road Upgrade.
Senior Project Manager, Walid Ahmadzai, said Symal worked in unison with MRPV, creating an integrated team to provide the best possible solution. The Project Delivery Approach (PDA) model aligned Contractor and Principal interests, and brought all parties together towards a common goal.
Our work on the Narre Warren North Road upgrade includes increasing the number of lanes from two to four between Fox and Belgrave-Hallam roads, along with upgrades to Heatherton Road, Ernst Wanke Road and Memorial Drive intersections. This milestone project will create roughly 600 jobs throughout the construction industry, while helping commuters get home sooner and safer.
In the spirit of reconciliation, Symal acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their continuing connection to land, sea and water. We pay respect to their Elders past, present and emerging and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Australia’s First Peoples whose cultural practices continue today.
