Upgrading connections: delivering the Ballan Road Intersection Upgrade

We’re proud to share that Symal has been awarded the Ballan Road Intersection Upgrade by the Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority (VIDA) — our fifth project together with VIDA Roads and another milestone in a partnership built on trust and performance.

The project will reshape the busy intersection at Ballan, McGrath and Green roads in Wyndham Vale with new traffic lights, additional lanes, bus lanes, and safer bike paths and pedestrian crossings.

These upgrades will ease congestion, enhance safety and give Melbourne’s growing west the infrastructure it needs to thrive — part of the Allan Government's Road Blitz to Get Families Home Sooner and Safer.

Following a successful procurement phase, we worked closely with VIDA during the Development Phase to identify innovative design and construction solutions for a complex road environment. This collaborative approach promotes the best project outcomes and reinforces our capability to drive outcomes for technically challenging transport infrastructure projects with confidence.

Works are already underway, with completion scheduled for 2027.
