Galvin Park Reserve

Symal was tasked with constructing two Australian Rules football grounds, along with a car park, sports field lighting, and various landscaping elements at Galvin Park Reserve, situated on Shaw’s Road in Werribee. In October 2019, Symal was reengaged by Wyndham City Council to refurbish the reserve, focusing on drainage improvements, sports field fencing, and the installation of new sand and turf.

The initial works included topsoil stripping, irrigation and stormwater systems, subsoil drainage, lighting installation, and the construction of two ovals (one senior and one junior). Additional tasks included landscaping, retaining walls, seating, paving, playground construction, and car park development.

The subsequent works involved demolishing existing fencing, removing turf, installing stormwater and irrigation systems, laying sand and turf, and installing new fencing.

Both projects posed unique challenges due to the site's proximity to residential areas. Nevertheless, Symal successfully delivered state-of-the-art football fields and associated facilities to Wyndham City Council, meeting all deadlines and exceeding client expectations.
