Glass Recycling Services Intervention Project

Located at the GRS glass recycling facility in Coolaroo, the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) stepped in to mitigate the live fire risk and oversee the cleanup process when the recycling company faced financial collapse.

Symal were engaged as principal contractor, handling the challenging task of removing fire and leachate hazards. Our expert team managed the safe handling, treatment, and removal of hot waste materials, reaching temperatures of up to 600°C. Additionally, we ensured the onsite containment, collection, and safe disposal of contaminated leachate.
