Hanwha Armoured Vehicle Centre of Excellence

Partnering with Built, Symal Contractors completed civil and stormwater tasks for the Hanwha Armoured Vehicle Centre of Excellence (H-ACE), a 32,000 square meter facility designed for manufacturing, development, and testing of armoured vehicles.

Our scope of work included:

• bulk earthworks of 40,000m3 of fill and 10,000m3 of cut

• 15,000m2 of asphalt pavements and roads

• construction of heavy duty concrete pavements

• site stormwater installation

• kerb placement

• site wide builders enabling works

The achievements included smart value management, community engagement, and meeting deadlines, with the project marking Symal Contractor’s largest concrete pour.

Challenges involved creating a concrete test track for armoured vehicles, while innovations included using local fill materials to streamline the earthworks program through detailed design and teamwork with geotechnical experts.
