The road to success is always under construction.

The Hallam North and Heatherton Road Upgrade was our first project as principal contractor for Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) awarded under the Project Delivery Approach (PDA) model as part of Victoria’s Big Build.

Symal Infrastructure has gone from strength to strength as Victoria’s largest self-performing contractor with a sophistication of services – including design management and communications and stakeholder engagement functions – to deliver the design and construct work for our partner, MRPV.

True to our values of being impactful, resourceful, dependable and genuine, our talent team worked collaboratively with our client to solve complex problems in the design phase, minimise service disruptions during utility relocations and keep the community informed and consulted every step of the way.

We’re always committed to the health and safety of people and the environment. Several innovative sustainability initiatives were implemented on this project to reduce environmental impacts. We procured 100% recycled high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes used to improve stormwater drainage and removed repurposed trees to enable road widening for use in conservation reserves and habitat replacements.

This major road project has provided improved infrastructure for motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, the local community and businesses – with extra lanes and traffic lights for safer and improved commuter journeys, two newly upgraded bus stops and the introduction of walking and cycling paths.

The successful completion of this project is a testament to our strong project delivery capabilities, providing long-lasting benefits for our client and the community. We’d also like to thank the community for their ongoing patience and understanding throughout construction.

We’re proud to build projects that last the test of time and relationships that go the distance.
