North Coast Flood Repairs

Project completion March 2017
Location North Coast
Client Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC)
Sectors Waste, recycling and resources , Disaster recovery

Symal's Bridge and Civil division received a contract from ARTC to lead remediation efforts on rail underbridge piers across multiple sites along the Telarah to Acacia Ridge Corridor, following the Cyclone Debbie Floods in March 2017. Spanning approximately 760km, this corridor stretches from Queensland into NSW.

As part of these remediation works, our Bridge and Civil specialists skillfully installed scour protection to safeguard against future damage from extreme weather events. Notably, our project team seamlessly executed these challenging tasks amidst active rail traffic, demonstrating our adeptness in maneuvering through creek beds and working at elevated heights with unparalleled precision and safety standards.
