Symal Contractors completed the Early Works and Field of Play packages at the Victorian Rugby Centre of Excellence, now Rugby Victoria's new hub for administration, sport development, and high-performance training. This world-class facility features two dedicated rugby fields—one with a grandstand—and a shared field accommodating both rugby and AFL.

In addition to its benefits for community sports, the Centre will enhance La Trobe University's sports credentials and serve as the home of the Melbourne Rebels Super W team.

Our scope of work included site strip and subgrade preparation, bulk earthworks, drainage and services installation, irrigation system setup, field lighting, and turf installation.

Showcasing Symal Contractors' agility as a self-performing contractor, this project saw the team collaborate with project partners while upholding strict environmental controls to protect the nearby Darebin Creek area.

This project also included a partnership with Sycle to treat existing topsoil on-site for reuse, significantly reducing the volume of contaminated material leaving the site for disposal.
