Symal wins big: Pakenham Roads Upgrade Project

  • What we do

We are thrilled to announce that Symal has been awarded the principal contractor for Stage 1 of the Princes Freeway Interchanges Upgrade, making this our first freeway project.

This project will provide infrastructure upgrades to the Pakenham community and surrounding areas, offering improved traffic flow, reduced bottlenecks and safer outcomes for all road users along with more walking and cycling options to the town centre.

Symal Infrastructure General Manager Matthew Gurney said that the business “is thrilled to be once again working with Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) to deliver much-needed road upgrades to the Princes Freeway interchanges in Pakenham.”

“This is our third MRPV contract awarded under the Project Delivery Approach (PDA) model, following the successful delivery of the Hallam North and Heatherton Road Upgrade and continuing Narre Warren North Road Upgrade – a testament to our self-performing capability and high-quality delivery of infrastructure projects for Victoria’s Big Build,” Gurney said.

Our team at the Pakenham site has grown to around 200 people working collaboratively with the MRPV team and local contractors to successfully deliver the project.

Symal is committed to Building Better Together and we look forward to working over the next three years to successfully deliver Stage 1 of the Pakenham Roads Upgrade project.

Stay tuned for updates on our progress on our news page and social media channels.
