Since joining Symal in 2015, Matt has grown alongside the business. From leading major projects and growing our Infrastructure business to supporting the establishment of Wamarra and helping build our Defence and Power and Renewables capabilities, he’s played an important role in shaping the Group to what we are today.
Matt’s impact goes beyond business growth. He backs our people, builds strong teams and gives others the opportunity to step up and lead. As the inaugural Chair of Symal’s Women in Construction Steering Committee, Matt has also played a key role in driving greater representation and participation of women across our industry.
Most recently, Matt has overseen the team delivering the Eastern Freeway Burke to Tram Alliance, one of Symal’s largest alliance projects, while continuing to support teams and leaders across our growing national business.
In his role as COO, Matt now leads Symal Group’s Infrastructure division, bringing together major infrastructure and core contracting, First Nations contracting, Shamrock and our growing Defence and Power and Renewables capabilities.
Symal Chief Executive Officer Nabeel Sadaka said Matt’s appointment reflects both the impact he has made and the way he leads.
“Matt has grown with Symal, but more importantly, he’s helped others grow with us. He backs our people, takes ownership and brings a practical, collaborative approach to every challenge. His appointment reflects the contribution he’s made over many years and the leadership we need as we continue to grow.”
Matt’s story is a great example of where taking ownership, backing people and embracing new challenges can lead.
Congratulations, Matt, on a well-deserved appointment.
