Across the year, we expanded our reach, brought new capabilities into the Group and strengthened the foundations for our next stage of growth. From strategic acquisitions and new facilities to a growing pipeline of work, each milestone helped build a more diversified business.
Here’s a look at the key moments that shaped the year.
We continued to grow our national footprint through four completed acquisitions, welcoming new businesses and specialist capabilities into the Group.
In August 2025, Locale joined Symal, adding a regulated utilities platform with recurring revenue. McFadyen followed in October, strengthening our Queensland utilities and pipeline capability.
In March 2026, Timms and L&D Contractors joined the Group, further building our Queensland presence, while Davison Earthmovers expanded our civil contracting capability in South Australia.
We also signed an agreement to acquire Shamrock Civil in June, marking an important step in expanding our defence and resources platform.
Together, these moves strengthened our capabilities and extended our reach across key geographies and end markets.
Our investment in the business extended beyond acquisitions.
In November 2025, we relocated our corporate headquarters to South Melbourne, creating a stronger platform to support the Group’s ambitions.
We also opened a new facility in Avalon in March 2026, expanding our plant, logistics and operational capacity.
In December, we secured a $300 million debt facility, providing low-cost, flexible revolving facilities with leading banks to support the business as it continues to grow.
FY26 also marked a milestone in how we connect with our investor community, with Symal holding its inaugural institutional Investor Day in May to share our strategy and outlook.
By the end of the financial year, work-in-hand had grown by approximately $140 million to $1.9 billion, providing a strong base of secured work as we entered FY27.
FY26 was about more than individual milestones. It was about building a stronger, more diversified Group — bringing together complementary businesses, investing in our operational capability and positioning Symal to pursue opportunities across our key markets.
With a broader footprint, deeper capability and a growing base of work, we enter FY27 focused on continuing to deliver for our clients and building on the momentum of the year behind us.
FY26 laid important foundations. Now it’s about what we build from here.
