Local government shapes the communities we all live in. Understanding what’s ahead for Queensland’s councils means showing up, listening and bringing the right capability to the table.
That’s what brought Symal Group to this year’s LGAQ Annual Conference in Cairns, where our team connected with council representatives from across the state to hear firsthand what’s shaping local government’s priorities in the period ahead – from managing growth, to ageing infrastructure, to staying prepared for whatever the next wet season brings.
The Symal stand gave visitors a look at the breadth of capability behind the Symal Group name — from civil construction and emergency management through to the specialist entities that sit alongside it. Backed by our self-delivery model and group-owned fleet of plant and equipment, we’re able to bring the people, machines and experience needed to respond quickly, wherever in Queensland the work is.
Representing Symal at the conference were Christian George, National Lead – Defence & Emergency Management, Sasha Briner, Project Manager – Emergency Management, and David Sweeney, Business Development Manager – Queensland.
“It was great to put faces to so many of the councils across Queensland, and to hear directly what’s front of mind for them heading into the next year or two,” said Christian George, National Lead – Defence & Emergency Management.
“Conversations like these help us understand where we can add the most value, and it was fantastic to see the response to what Symal Group has to offer,” said David Sweeney, Business Development Manager – Queensland.
As Queensland’s councils navigate growth, infrastructure renewal and a changing climate, the relationships built at events like LGAQ play an important role in making sure the right partners are at the table when it matters. We’re looking forward to building on these conversations in the months ahead.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Symal stand, and to everyone who had a go on our toy excavator.
