We’re proud to announce that Monica Pawlak, our HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment & Quality) Systems Coordinator, is undertaking the Lysander’s Women in Construction Scholarship.
This program will empower Monica with the leadership skills to support her aspirations of leading a diverse team of safety advisors on significant infrastructure projects. It’s a real achievement for her and her career.
Monica’s manager, Symal HSEQ Systems Manager Michael Roberts, saw an opportunity for growth and involvement in the program to help foster industry development to reach her career goals.
During the immersive program, Monica will further develop her building blocks and build powerful connections and networks in the industry.
It was in 2022, Monica took the leap into a career in the construction with Symal and hasn’t looked back! She hopes to develop programs to encourage young women to pursue a career in construction and have more females in positions onsite.
“Creating mentor programs for women who have just finished their certificates, diplomas and degrees and are looking to get their foot in the door in the industry would also motivate many young women to pursue a career in construction,” said Monica.
We hope that by sharing Monica’s journey and achievement, it encourages like-minded professionals to support and celebrate the advancement of women in construction industry.
Symal loves to support women like Monica to succeed and encourage motivated employees to make amazing things happen.
