The Dandenong South Inland Port (DSIP), Victoria's inaugural fully automated intermodal terminal, boasts cutting-edge rail mounted gantry cranes for simultaneous train and truck loading/unloading. Symal spearheaded the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) Phase, collaborating with Salta Properties on design, budgeting, and construction strategies.

The completed facility includes bulk earthworks, a private rail siding, truck pavements, automated truck/container recognition systems, an intermodal office building, electrical works, stormwater management, hydraulics, and landscaping.

During the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) Phase, Symal demonstrated a high level of expertise and diligence in managing diverse aspects of the project. This included meticulously coordinating the installation of essential services such as power, water, sewer, and communication connections, ensuring seamless integration into the site's infrastructure. Additionally, Symal fostered effective collaboration with subcontractors and consultants, leveraging their expertise to refine project plans and methodologies.

Engagement with stakeholders was a key focus during this phase, with Symal actively involving community members, future tenants, and relevant authorities to ensure that the project aligned with their needs and expectations. This inclusive approach facilitated a thorough understanding of cultural heritage and environmental considerations, allowing Symal to implement appropriate measures to protect and preserve sensitive areas.
