Symal led the expansion project to significantly boost capacity, efficiency and competitiveness in the ports sector.
In response to the escalating terminal demand, Symal played a vital role in expanding Port capacity by an impressive 30%, all while working in a unique live port environment.
The Symal Infrastructure team completed work across the complete life cycle of the project, from earthworks to structures and utilities, ensuring a seamless and comprehensive execution.
The detailed scope included;
Civil engineering: soil relocation, impact rolling, and construction of foundations and pavements. The civil scope also involved rail installation for the automated cranes, fire protection, and electrical systems.
Complex structures: installation of concrete structures, custom sleepers, precast plinths, U-troughs, steel reefer towers, and ship-to-shore anchor plates.
Building utilities: installation of stormwater drainage systems, fire protection systems and various civil electrical and communication works.
VICT’s expansion ensures the terminal site meets growing trade demands, enhances efficiency, maximises throughput and solidifies its status as the State’s premier container terminal.
