The Victorian State Rugby Centre includes a show pitch with grandstand seating and two additional pitches, along with highperformance facilities including a gymnasium, sport science, medical and recovery areas and a training and match day home for the Melbourne Rebels’ Super W team.
Symal Infrastructure completed the Common Area Enabling Works (CAEW) of Stage 3, which has established the park as the national base for Football Australia's women's programs, including the Matildas, and the State Centres for Football Victoria and Rugby Victoria. The completed facilities cover 15 hectares, featuring separate Centres of Excellence for each sport.
Symal's scope of work spanned from demolition and tree clearing to landscaping and infrastructure development. Throughout the project, we collaborated closely with the client to optimise designs, reduce construction costs, and minimise waste.
To meet project deadlines, the Symal team re-designed the intersection at Plenty Road, considering tight timelines and coordinating with authorities for required approvals to ensure on-time completion.
