Molonglo Substation

Building the foundations for sustainable energy and future growth in Molonglo, Canberra.

Civil works are complete at the Molonglo Substation, with the team powering through from start to finish - delivering precision, reliability, and solid groundwork for one of the ACT’s key energy infrastructure projects.

Working alongside Downer Utilities Australia on behalf of Evoenergy, our team took the reins on all civil elements of the job - from October 2024 through to March 2025 - bringing structure and strength to a growing region that’s only just hitting its stride.

The work was no small feat. We tackled excavation, laying and backfilling of electrical (LV, HV, fibre and comms) and stormwater services, DCL pipe installations, flame pits, piling, and poured more than 30 foundations, including two transformer foundations and a switch room basement.

Behind every pour and trench was a team committed to quality. Led by our workhorses in NSW, the team worked collaboratively to bring the job home safely and efficiently.

It’s a great result and one we’re proud to be part of - helping energise a more resilient network for the Molonglo Valley and beyond. A big thanks to Downer Utilities for the partnership and trust.

On to the next.
