Sectors Rail infrastructure

Parkville Station, integral to the Metro Tunnel Project, is strategically located beneath Grattan Street between Royal Parade and Leicester Street. With four entrances planned, it offers convenient access with two entrances directly serving The University of Melbourne and two facilitating entry to the hospital precinct. The station's construction will enhance connectivity, providing direct train links to renowned educational, health, and research facilities while easing strain on local transportation networks.

Symal's comprehensive scope included diverse infrastructure works and service installations, with particular emphasis on efficient trenching methods to minimise disruption.

Navigating the complexities of stakeholder management was crucial given the project's high-profile location and its proximity to educational and medical facilities. Environmental considerations, including vibration and noise control, were meticulously addressed to minimise disruption and ensure the well-being of nearby establishments.

Noteworthy innovations, such as the use of crushed concrete instead of quarry material and innovative waste disposal methods, highlighted the project's commitment to sustainability and efficiency, reflecting a shared vision for a brighter, more interconnected future.
