Wadi Al Salam

Project completion May 2023
Location Dandenong South, VIC
Client Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust
Sectors Community infrastructure, Health

Construction of Section 3 of the Wadi Al Salam single-row monumental grave plots involved various tasks including minor earthworks, installation of screw piles, construction of concrete grave beams, backfilling, pavement placement, landscaping, sandblasting of grave identifiers, and irrigation.

Due to the location of the project being adjacent to two live plots on both sides of the project, with just 2.2m access between the grave beams and less than 2.5m between our fencing and concrete structures, we needed to quickly develop solutions to allow access and works to continue while not impacting production.

Additionally, the project faced program complexities due to halting works during funeral services, making it necessary to restructure our schedules.

Despite these challenges, the project was completed a month ahead of schedule through efficient program restructuring and maximising production efficiency.
