Chances are, some of the best and brightest minds are yet to step foot on site. That's why we've created Spark, a program designed to deliver a hands-on taster of the world of construction to curious high schoolers.
We remember what it was like to wrestle with the responsibility of choosing a career path with little knowledge of what that career actually looks like. Spark provides a tailored one-week snapshot of the industry, breaking down the basics for budding professionals.
Our experienced teams will introduce students to a range of business segments, from engineering and safety to site management and operations. Spark helps to create a clear picture of where a career in construction can lead.
Work experience is best suited to people later in their schooling who are actively thinking about their next steps. Because of this, applicants for the Spark program must be 15 years or older.
No you don't, simply bring a passion for learning and a general interest in construction. A white card (also known as a construction induction card) is great to have, but it's not necessary to take part in Spark.
You do! Your input is extremely important to us. As a Spark participant, you'll be compensated in line with local government guidelines.
We know that there's a lot to take in. You're more than welcome to reach out to our very helpful Learning & Development Team at training@symal.com.au
