Equitable amenities for all Symal sites

From plant, hi-vis and PPE on a work site to workstations, laptops and corporate attire in the office, there are many things that you would expect to see in any work environment.

However, when it comes to project site amenities, there's an area where the construction industry needs to catch up.

Our Women in Construction Group recently highlighted that some women on our sites have been personally providing feminine hygiene products in restrooms.

To address this, we’ve partnered with Pixii, a family-owned Australian business, to install sanitary hygiene dispensers across all Symal sites. Pixii supplies 100% cotton, biodegradable, hypoallergenic products to ensure these essentials are always on hand.

We’ve started rolling out Pixii units across all Symal sites and have added them to our site mobilisation checklists to ensure ongoing monitoring.

We're proud to be taking small steps to ensure all women on our sites are comfortable to be their best selves at work and support positive progress for a more equitable construction industry.
