The City of Melbourne has awarded Symal Stage One of The Greenline Project, which is set to transform the first 500m at Birrarung Marr of the overall 4-km stretch along the Yarra River, connecting Birrarung Marr to the Bolte Bridge.
City of Melbourne Lord Mayor, Sally Capp says “We’re excited to partner with Symal Infrastructure – an industry leader that will build the first stage of picturesque boardwalks, spacious promenades, event spaces and native landscapes.”
The improved promenade will create an interconnected, vibrant space for residents, workers, and visitors, featuring areas for events, public art, and recreation while providing a picturesque backdrop for daily activities, including leisurely riverside strolls, moments of reflection, and engagement with the river’s ecosystem.
Matthew Gurney. Executive General Manager of Symal Infrastructure expressed enthusiasm, stating, “We’re delighted to collaborate with the City of Melbourne on the Greenline Project and partner with Aboriginal-owned civil contractor Wamarra at culturally significant Birrarung Marr. Symal believes in building partnerships today for a better tomorrow for Melbournians.”
We are proud and excited to have been awarded Site One by the City of Melbourne and to work alongside our Wamarra counterparts.
