Backing Ports Australia

Every two years, the Ports Australia conference brings together ports, maritime services, business, and political leaders. Symal was a key sponsor of this year’s Brisbane conference, which had the theme ‘Risk and Resilience’. Attendees shared discussions, presentations, innovations and best practice thinking on the challenges and opportunities faced by the sector, while highly regarded speakers presented on a range of topics including insurance and risk, sustainability, single window development and the era of supply chain digitisation.

It was a great opportunity to meet passionate peers, celebrate the industry’s successes, and look to the future, alongside those with the potential to shape it.

With a focus on improved access, smarter interfaces between land and water, storage capabilities and efficient multi-modal transportation, port infrastructure is a key growth sector for Symal. A great demonstration of our capability in this space is our recent project for Toll, where we were tasked with capacity upgrades to the terminals at Webb Dock and Burnie on the Bass Strait.

Projects like this highlight our strong contribution to the building of infrastructure that’s set to serve Australia for generations to come.
