Since joining the Symal Group earlier this year, Davison has continued to build momentum around what it does best, backing great people to deliver great outcomes. That commitment was recently celebrated at the Civil Apprenticeships and Careers Ltd (CACL) Awards, hosted by the Civil Contractors Federation South Australia (CCF SA).
Two Davison team members were recognised for their outstanding contributions to the development and success of future industry professionals.
Bernard Alderson was named CACL Supervisor of the Year (Host Supervisor), acknowledging the incredible impact he has on apprentices across the business. Through his Quality, Safety and Environment leadership, Bernard plays a key role in shaping the apprentice experience, from inductions and safety guidance through to mentoring and support across their training journey.
Fergus Burns received the CCF SA Best Training to Employment Outcome Award, celebrating his standout transition from training into full-time employment. His recognition reflects his strong work ethic, reliability, determination and natural leadership qualities that have seen him quickly make his mark within the team.
Civil Apprenticeships and Careers Ltd (CACL) is South Australia’s dedicated civil construction Group Training Organisation, supporting the next generation of industry talent through hands-on training and real-world experience. The awards shine a light on individuals who help make that journey possible—whether by guiding others or excelling in their own.
For Davison, these achievements highlight the energy, culture and capability of its people. Across the broader Symal Group, they’re a reminder that progress is driven by those who lift others up, step up, and bring their best every day.
Congratulations to Bernard and Fergus on this fantastic recognition.
