Symal continues to drive growth, innovation and strategic expansion to enhance capability and delivery as a diverse and vertically integrated construction group.

Today marks the inaugural reporting season for Symal Group Limited (ASX: SYL), with 1H FY25 results that are positively on track to meet its prospectus financial forecasts and the announcement of exciting new developments.

Diversification

With a strong track record of creating new strategic businesses – such as Indigenous contractor Wamarra and waste management company Sycle - we’re proud to launch our new electrical business Searo, powered by Symal.

Searo is a future-focused electrical contractor specialising in designing, engineering and delivering high-performance solutions to the commercial and industrial sectors in renewables, energy storage and infrastructure.

Symal Group Managing Director Joe Bartolo expressed, “Expanding into electrical contracting is a natural progression in our diversification strategy to service infrastructure and energy markets, leveraging synergies with existing civil services, meeting client demands and emerging into new sectors."

Sustainable innovation

When it comes to innovation, Sycle has big plans. We’re focused on driving growth by optimising operations, increasing waste collections, improving recovery rates and introducing value-added products.

Looking ahead, we’re investing in future technologies to keep Symal positioned for long-term success. We're reinventing waste into sustainable solutions and changing the way our industry treats waste, recycling and repurposing.

“It's a significant time for Sycle as we implement our vision for the Sycle of tomorrow by bolstering our capabilities and investment in innovative plant and equipment for our circular precinct to produce alternative fuels and recycled materials,” commented Sycle Executive General Manager, Aristos Karavias.

Operational excellence

Alongside our vertically integrated project delivery model, Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) is a strength of Symal’s operations. We have a skilled Precontract and Design Management Team with extensive experience in delivering ECI services for design, construct, and collaborative contracts across various sectors – with many successful public and private collaborations under our belts.

CEO Nabeel Sadaka remarked, “Through a transparent ECI process, Symal systematically identifies and manages risks, leveraging the team's collective experience to address key areas like geotechnical issues, planning, design, construction constraints, and stakeholder management. Our approach ensures value for money, a genuine commitment to collaboration and a higher likelihood of project success for both Symal and our clients."

2025, we’re just getting started!

We're keeping the momentum going in 2025 as one of Australia’s largest self-performing construction groups. Symal’s ability to win and deliver projects of all sizes will continue to drive our national growth across a diverse range of sectors.

We're continuing our expansion nationally with new office openings in Melbourne, Townsville, Brisbane and Adelaide, to support the growth in the transport and community infrastructure, energy renewables, and defence sectors—building better together for our clients and communities.
