Growing momentum in Queensland: Welcoming David Sweeney to the BD Team

We’re pleased to welcome David Sweeney to Symal as our new Business Development Manager, Queensland.

David is a commercially driven business development professional with extensive experience across Queensland’s civil infrastructure sector, specialising in transport, remediation and major infrastructure programs. He has a strong track record of identifying opportunities, building trusted relationships and developing sustainable project pipelines. 

Throughout his career, David has worked closely with local governments and Tier 1 contractors, contributing to major projects including flood recovery works, the Coomera Connector, Palm Beach to Tugun Upgrade and the Bruce Highway Upgrade. This experience has given him a deep understanding of procurement pathways, delivery risks and the importance of aligning commercial strategy with project outcomes. 

Based in Brisbane, David joins Symal’s business development team, where he will focus on strengthening our presence across the state and supporting future growth opportunities. 

With experience spanning both business development and operations, David brings a practical, delivery-focused approach to the role.

In his spare time, you'll find him working on the family farm, golfing, cooking up a storm, or holidaying at the beach with his wife and four children.
