Symal has delivered the Bell to Moreland Level Crossing Removal Project which included the removal of four level crossings on the Upfield line.
Symal project teams have completed works on the Bell to Moreland Level Crossing Removal Project. As part of the removal of four level crossings on the Upfield line, our works involved civil and structural works north of Bell Street in Coburg. Symal’s scope included bulk earthworks, structural concrete, piling, and drainage works.
Over the course of just six weeks, 85 piles were constructed, over 1,500m3 of concrete was poured, and 450m of retaining walls were installed. These works were performed under full 24hour occupation conditions with complex staging required due to tight timeframes and interaction with other subcontractors under the North West Program Alliance.
In addition to the main occupation works, this project includes shared user path, electrical works, and roadworks on Bell Street to move the now-redundant level crossing.
In the spirit of reconciliation, Symal acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their continuing connection to land, sea and water. We pay respect to their Elders past, present and emerging and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Australia’s First Peoples whose cultural practices continue today.
