Grampians Excavations was engaged by Fulton Hogan to complete works on the Bulgana Wind Farm in July 2019.
Grampians provided plant equipment and labour to facilitate the construction of the access tracks, hard stand, turbine foundation excavations, back fills and reinstatement works.
The wind farm was located in hard granite rock which was difficult for the client to excavate. Grampians called upon its Large Dozer Fleet to provide a cost effective solution, sending the CAT D9L, D10T and Komatsu 475 to the project – ripping through the hard rock.
The crew was versatile, moving from bulk earthworks, pavements, footing excavations and backfills as required by the client. As a result, they delivered the project on time and below budget.
