We know how important safety is, in everything we do, and that’s why we celebrate HSEQ Excellence at Symal.
This month, we recognise Structures Formwork Carpenter, Gordon Allan, and Infrastructure Labourer, Ronnie Talevski, for their proactive approach to safety on site.
While working on the Chisholm Road Prison Project during the COVID-19 pandemic, Gordon has excelled as COVID-19 monitor on site, educating workers on a range of preventative measures including physical distancing, PPE (face coverings) and general hygiene.
Gordon’s dedication to protecting all workers has helped the project remain a safe and healthy workplace.
Ronnie, while working on the Bell to Moreland Rd Level Crossing Removal Project during the COVID-19 pandemic, came up with a way to receive quarry materials without personal interaction with truck drivers to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.
His actions prevented the potential quarantine of several project personnel in an intense occupation environment when a supplier notified Symal that one of their drivers had tested positive to COVID-19.
Ronnie’s process also had an impact company wide after it was adopted on other sites.
Well done Gordon and Ronnie!
We thank you for all your efforts and contribution to maintaining our HSEQ culture.
